Data Sources

Every fact on Entio traces back to one of the primary sources below — official government registers and open datasets, not a third-party aggregator. This page lists them all, with what each one is used for and how often it updates.

Weekly list of newly incorporated companies

Updated weekly

Companies Registry, HKSAR Government

The base company records on this site — English/Chinese name, BRN, and incorporation date — come directly from this weekly file.

Registered office address lookup (by BRN)

Updated daily

Companies Registry, HKSAR Government

Used to fetch each company's official registered office address, which we then match against known area names to assign a district.

Trust or Company Service Provider (TCSP) licensee register

Updated monthly

Companies Registry, HKSAR Government

Cross-referenced against every company's registered address to identify licensed company-secretarial providers — see our TCSP guide for what the licence means.

Gazetted street name list

Updated as published

Lands Department, HKSAR Government

Used to romanize Chinese-language registered addresses to their real, official English street and district names rather than a generic phonetic guess.

What we add on top

Beyond reproducing these sources, Entio computes a small number of derived fields — industry classification (from a keyword match, disclosed with a confidence score), district assignment, registered-address density, and a Data Completeness score. None of these are official registry facts; each is labelled with its own source and confidence so it's never confused with verified government data. See our Methodology page for the full detail.

Entio is an independent project and is not affiliated with the Companies Registry, the Lands Department, or the HKSAR Government. Always confirm critical company details through the official Companies Registry Cyber Search Centre.
